Theme Reads SERIES SERIALS
Historicals
The focus of this theme is Historical series, those wonderful sequels, trilogies and related series that take us back in time and bring a variety of eras and characters to life. Regal noblemen and ladies of the Regency era, knights in shining armor and their maidens fair from the Medieval era, patriots from Colonial America, and ranchers, lady doctors, Indians, lawmen and schoolteachers from the Old West. They've all played a part in Historical Series novels. We love finding out what happened to the brother of the hero from the first book of a series, and later on his best friend. And when a set of twin sisters become entangled in each others romances, how can we resist finding out what happens in the books that tell their two unique stories? Sometimes an author will begin a mystery in the first of a series and drop more clues as each book continues on, finally revealing all in the last, satisfying story. Books with connected storylines are, without doubt, some of the most popular, and best selling, in the romance genre, and the future shows no sign of the demand for them slowing down.
