Product Description:

The New York Times bestselling author of Only Skein Deep returns as Kelly Flynn and the Lambspun knitters must come together before their whole town unravels…

In Fort Connor, Colorado, the friends at the House of Lambspun knitting shop are welcoming a new face into the fold. Shy, sweet, and pregnant, Nancy Marsted would like to knit a baby hat, and the Lambspun ladies are more than happy to show her the ropes. They share their own pregnancy yarns and soon learn that the father of Nancy’s baby isn’t quite the man she dreamed he was. He’s a cad.

Then one dark night a speeding car fatally mows down the dad-to-be and also strikes a cyclist, spinning the town into a frenzy. Everyone worries that a crazed killer is on the loose. Now it’s up to Kelly and the gang to put down their needles and cut to the chase before the culprit is driven to kill again…

DELICIOUS RECIPES AND KNITTING PATTERN  INCLUDED!

Summer’s in full swing, and Kelly Flynn has a full plate – her work as a CPA along with coaching members of the local youth softball league and a very active social life keep her busy, just the way she likes it. When a friend shares a confidence about a classmate who has become pregnant with another student’s child, Kelly sympathizes with the young mother-to-be…but when the father of the baby is run down and killed outside a local bar, Kelly senses there’s more to the story.

She’s right, and as Kelly begins asking questions it becomes clear that there is definitely more to this hit and run than was first apparent. For one thing, the driver hit another victim, Kelly’s friend, Greg, who has sustained serious injuries from which he will eventually recover. There’s got to be a car in town that shows such considerable damage as would occur from two such brutal encounters, but nothing turns up. It’s not until Kelly’s sleuthing reveals one key detail that the puzzle pieces lock slowly into place, and bringing closure to a sad story indeed.

Knit to be Tied is the 14th in Maggie Sefton’s Knitting Mystery series featuring sleuth Kelly Flynn. As always, Kelly’s friends feature prominently in the story, with perhaps just a bit too much time spent at ball games, drinking remarkable quantities of coffee and generally passing the time of day with not much of anything else to do. The plot plods along to an expected conclusion, and even the addition of some surprising news can’t bring a spark of life to this story. Perhaps it’s time for this series to be put to pasture, as Kelly seems to get less and less interesting and engaging with each outing. Predictable and pedantic, Knit to be Tied is disappointing and may appeal only to those already engaged in this long-running series.
