Product Description:

The New York Times bestselling author of the Manor House Mysteries and the White House Chef Mysteries returns with a mix of murder and mayhem for curator Grace Wheaton.

Now that Grace Wheaton has officially been named heir to Bennett Marshfield’s fortune, her usually busy schedule has become a juggling act. In addition to her duties at Marshfield Manor, she’s bankrolling her roommates’ refurbished wine shop, Amethyst Cellars. Grace is excited to check out the rustic space with Bruce and Scott. But that excitement turns to dismay when they stumble upon the body of the banker involved with the sale.

Grace wants to get to the bottom of this mystery quickly so that her friends’ new venture isn’t overshadowed by an unsolved murder, but she’s got even more to balance when her troubled sister, Liza, is released from prison early. Liza’s first stop is Marshfield Manor and her first priority is grabbing a bite of Bennett’s fortune for herself. Grace has to keep her greedy sister at bay and catch a killer before her new life comes crashing down around her.

Things have finally settled into a new normal now that Julie Wheaton has officially been named heir to her wealthy uncle Bennett’s fortune. She’s invested in a new venture that will involve a great deal of renovation and restoration of a large historical building in her area, and she and her partners can’t wait to get started. Their project gets off to a rough start, however, when the body of a local banker is found in the building, along with an unexpected guest who turns out to be a witness to the murder – and whatever else may have been going on in the unoccupied building.

Julie has another big problem to deal with, and that’s in the form of her sister, Liza, who is soon to be released from jail and headed to town to stay near her only family, Julie. Julie isn’t happy about this arrangement and she’s enlisted her aunt to help supervise Liza and attempt to keep the young woman on the straight and narrow. Aunt Belinda may be just as much a part of the problem as of the solution, and Julie soon finds out that things with her aunt and sister aren’t always relative.

In the meantime, Julie’s romantic interest in local physician, Joe Bradley, may once again have hit a stalling point, and Joe has some explaining to do. Julie’s not sure what to think, but with everything else going on, romance can take a back seat. For now.

Grace to the Finish is the 8th book in Julie Hyzy’s “Manor House Mystery” series, and it’s every bit as fresh, fun and fast-paced as the previous novels. Grace is an interesting, believable amateur sleuth, and her personal relationships with her uncle, co-worker Frances and her roommates all lend an air of genuineness to the story. The plot unfolds at a rapid pace, but the final twist is what sneaks up behind like a rogue wave, creating a tension that burns up the pages – until the other subplots chime in to carry the book to a satisfying conclusion. If you’re looking for a new cozy series, you can’t go wrong with this one!
